Whitelaw Hotel

The Whitelaw Hotel, built in 1919, was an elegant hotel on the corner of 13th and T streets. This picture was taken after years of abandonment. In the 1970s and 1980s, it became a place where homeless people and prostitutes made shelter. In 1990, it was renovated to become moderate-income housing.
